Nordic or German Email Marketing Specialist

As Email Marketing Specialist, you will have overall responsibility for the email marketing channel and the revenue generated through this channel in the German or Scandinavian markets. You will develop an overall strategy to acquire profitable customers; negotiate, plan, deploy and optimize the email campaigns with external advertising partners; identify, recruit, and negotiate with new partners; and work with creative resources to optimize creatives, landing pages and other campaign elements to improve direct response and customer acquisition metrics. Your performance will be measured against monthly and quarterly targets representing a continuous level of sales growth.

Main Responsibilities:

- Lead the growth of the email channel in the German or Scandinavian markets
- Develop and execute the email strategy to maximize sales and achieve quarterly goals while accurately accruing and managing channel costs
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly target levels for number of customers, overall bookings; contribution margin
- Own and produce accurate short-term bottoms-up forecasts for the channel
- Develop an ongoing pipeline of potential email partners through lead generation and maintain and grow relationships with current email partners
- Negotiate, deploy and optimize the email campaigns with external advertising partners
- Follow current email marketing best practices and contribute to developing new ones
- Work closely with our in-house creative department to optimize campaign materials and develop innovative direct response email concepts
- Analyze campaign performance and drive testing initiatives and decisions based on data
- Ensure that rapid testing and learning are executed within the channel to promote incremental growth and critical breakthroughs

Education:

University degree in Marketing, e-commerce or related field is preferred

Key Skills Required:

- 2-5 years relevant work experience managing email campaigns
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the German online market
- Solid understanding of marketing principles
- Direct response marketing experience
- Data driven and results oriented
- Proactive and with a positive “can do” attitude
- Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Native German/Swedish/Norwegian or Danish language skills (both written and verbal) are essential; strong English language skills are also required
- Proficient in the use of MS-Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
